About TypeFlow

TypeFlow provides browser-based typing controls and related account and subscription features. The browser extension and the separate Google Docs integration are distinct ways to use TypeFlow.

Account and authentication information

TypeFlow uses Clerk for account authentication. Account identifiers and profile information, such as an email address and any name supplied during registration, support sign-in and account management. The browser extension uses authentication cookies and session information to synchronize sign-in and determine access to subscription features.

Subscriptions and billing

The TypeFlow website uses Clerk's pricing and checkout components for subscriptions. Information submitted during checkout is handled by Clerk and its payment-processing services to complete and manage subscriptions. The extension retrieves subscription authorization and stores the user's plan locally to apply feature and usage limits. Its typing panel does not request card numbers.

Typing text and local preferences

The browser extension processes text supplied by the user and the selected webpage field to perform a typing session. The browser typing implementation processes this text in the browser rather than sending it to a TypeFlow typing server. Text inserted into a third-party website is then subject to that website's own handling and privacy practices. Local extension storage holds typing speed preferences, speed ranges, plan status, and usage counters. The packaged popup also includes a feature that saves entered text locally.

Usage information and page access

TypeFlow keeps local daily use and word-count totals to enforce plan limits and display usage. When the user opens the extension, it checks the active page's URL to determine whether it can run. The current extension build also writes that URL to its local background debug console. This is separate from collecting a list of all pages visited in the browser.

Google user data

The separate Google Docs sidebar sends user-entered text in chunks to Google Apps Script, which inserts it into the currently open document. The script reads document text around a typing marker to maintain the insertion position. It stores a usage date, daily use and word totals and temporary document-tab and typing-anchor identifiers in Google Apps Script user properties. Usage totals reset when the script next checks them on a new day. Finishing a session attempts to remove its marker and named range and deletes its stored anchor identifiers; interrupted sessions may leave a marker until cleanup runs. Inserted text remains in the Google document until the user edits or deletes it. The sidebar does not send document text to the TypeFlow website. To check subscription access, Google Apps Script sends the active Google account email address over HTTPS to the TypeFlow plan API hosted on Vercel. That API looks up the corresponding account and subscription through Clerk and returns whether an account was found and its Free, Pro, or Premium plan. The Google account email must match the TypeFlow account email for this lookup. A previous test-plan setting may remain in user properties but is no longer used for authorization. Google Apps Script and the sidebar log operational errors. TypeFlow does not sell Google user data.

Service providers and support

Service providers process information needed to operate TypeFlow, including authentication, subscription checkout, hosting, and support email delivery. Vercel hosts the TypeFlow website; Google provides the Apps Script and Docs environment. Clerk provides authentication and subscription components. Messages sent to support@typeflowhq.com are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail inbox and include the sender's address, message, and any attachments supplied for support. TypeFlow does not sell personal information to advertisers.

Local data and deletion requests

Removing the browser extension removes its local extension storage in that browser profile. This does not delete your TypeFlow account, cancel a subscription, remove records held by service providers, or delete text already entered into a website or document. Contact support@typeflowhq.com to request access to or deletion of account information and to ask about subscription cancellation.

Data protection and retention

TypeFlow uses HTTPS encryption when information is transmitted between the browser, Google Apps Script, TypeFlow services, and service providers. Access to account and subscription information is limited to systems and personnel that need it to operate TypeFlow. TypeFlow does not intentionally retain Google document text on its website servers. Account, billing, and support information may remain with the relevant service provider for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Users may contact support@typeflowhq.com to request access to or deletion of eligible personal information.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning

TypeFlow does not use Google Workspace user data, Google document text, or derived Google Workspace data to train, improve, or develop generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. TypeFlow does not send Google Workspace data to third-party AI providers for model training or unrelated purposes. TypeFlow's use of Google Workspace data follows Google's User Data Policy and Limited Use requirements.
